It started with a jacket.
A friend needed one from Zara, for a dinner that night. She'd been on video calls all day — no time to get across town before closing. Someone we knew was already walking that way. Ten minutes later, she had her jacket. He had a coffee waiting for him. That's the whole idea: people crossing paths anyway, put to good use.
Dutch shoppers feel this more than most of Europe
In an EU-wide survey, the Netherlands had the second-highest share of online shoppers who ran into a problem with their order — and across Europe, the single most common complaint was delivery taking longer than expected. Source: Eurostat, 2023.
Built for the Netherlands
Dense cities, short distances, great trains and a culture of doing each other a favour. It's close to the perfect country for this.
Neighbours, not couriers
Nobody here is on a shift. People help on routes they were taking anyway, for a few euros or a coffee. That changes how the whole thing feels.
Lighter by design
Every haul that rides along with an existing journey is a courier trip that never has to happen.
Where we are right now
HaulMate is early. The community, the matching, the verification and the full haul flow are live and working. Payments are currently simulated and verifications are reviewed by hand while we finish the regulated parts properly rather than quickly.
